THE HELPFUL WOLF

Once upon a time there was a wolf named Howl. He was very popular with the other wolves.

Many wolves looked up to him because he would do everything himself without asking for help.

Even when the job usually needed two or even three wolves, Howl would still do it by himself.

One day there was great concern around the village. The dam that held the water back was starting to crack.

The dam started to break open. The villagers ran to search for Howl.

He was nowhere in the village. The villagers really started to worry.

But suddenly, like magic, Howl appeared.

The Dam was about to break apart. Howl realized he had to push a rock to the river to save the village.

He tried to push the rock with all his might, but he couldnt.

Howl felt helpless, but then another wolf decided to help him.

Its ok I can take care of it, Howl said. Are you sure? Youre not moving it too much, The other wolf responded.

So with the wolfs help, they pushed the rock into the river and saved the village.

So Howl learned that sometimes the job is too big for one and you should accept the help of others rather than trying to do it all on your own.
