High School Student of African American Descent

Must be planning to attend a four-year college or university, or if enrolled in a two-year
college, planning to transfer to a four-year institution.

Award Criteria:
1. An Official High School transcript, with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.50, must be submitted.
2. School/Community activities must be included.
3. Must be a resident of South King, Pierce or Thurston counties.
4. A total of three Letters of Recommendation must be submitted:
One of the three letters must be from a teacher, counselor, or school administrator.
5. A personal statement specifying your intended career goals, in 300 words or less.
6. Applications must be postmarked by the stated deadline.
All materials should be placed in a folder and turned in to your counselor who will add an
official copy of your transcript and any test scores. Deadline for POSTMARKED materials is
March 15, 2013. All completed applications should be forwarded to Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc., Attn: Ms. Daphne A. Gill, P.O. Box 39316, Tacoma, WA 98496.
Announcement of the awards will be made by April 19, 2013.
