    What is parallelism in grammar?


    The best way to understand the idea of parallelism is to look at examples. For example: (Not parallel) We wanted to cook and to go swimming. (Parallel) We wanted to cook and to swim.

    Summary:

    Parallel structure means that two or more ideas in a sentence are expressed in similar form. And, but and or usually join similar termstwo or more nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, phrases or clauses. Parallel My ambition is to be a doctor and to specialize in surgery.
