Concept of Retrofitting :

The concept of retrofitting is also introduced in this project because the number of floors was increased by the authorities and hence more support is to be provided. For this extra support the horizontal reinforcement was previously provided extra at the time of original construction and the vertical reinforcement has to be provided later when it is required by cutting the concrete from 300 mm below the ground upto required number of floors. The readymix concrete is mixed with some chemicals so that the RCC structure will get its strength equivalent to previous structure in 3 days only.

Introduction of Ready-Mix Plant :

The ready-mix concrete plant at the site was introduced and we got to see the first thing i.e. two large silos. One silo is of flyash and the other is of cement. The RMC was produced at site and transported to the concrete pump with the help of site-mix trucks. Better quality concrete is produced. Site mix can produce higher compression strength with less water then standard batching methods. Reatrders are not used because the RMC is used on the site.

Bending of Bars for Lap Joint :

The lap joint of 50*Diameter length has to be provided in general. The bar is bent at an angle of 135 degree from horizontal in right and left direction alternatively at a very small gap with the help of Bar Bending Machine or manually. And is tied to the reinforcements coming from the bottom floor.
