Agricultural technology is among the most revolutionary and impactful areas of modern technology, driven by the fundamental need

for food and for feeding an ever-growing population. It has opened an era in which powered machinery does the work formerly performed by people and animals (such as oxen and horses). These machines have massively increased farm output and dramatically changed the way people are employed and produce food worldwide.

Initially, man used only sticks and stones as agricultural equipments.

When tools such as knives and ploughs were developed, they dominated agriculture for thousands of years.

With the coming of the industrial revolution, agricultural machines were developed for every stage in agriculture.

Tilling is done to make the soil fit for planting seeds. Tilling machines are used to till the soil efficiently. They help to till the soil in a very short time.

In olden days they used bare hands to sow seeds. They could not sow uniformly and also it was a time consuming work. These machines spray seeds uniformly in a very short time and also avoid wastage of seeds.

By using different machines like motors and pipelines, water can be uniformly given to all parts of the fields. These methods also help in efficient use of water.

Several fertilizers & pesticides have been used in order to protect the crops from pests and weeds. Fertilizers help in growing bumper crops Pesticides help in destroying pests.

These machines have decreased the hardships faced by the farmers by helping in all the steps of the harvesting and threshing processes.

Machines are available for all processes like hay making, sorting, packaging the products, etc.

Hybrid crops are invented to produce high yield in a very small area in a very short time. They produce high quality products.

These bio fertilizers and bio pesticides help in saving the environment and at the same time giving high yield. Pest selective bio pesticides help in destroying pests selectively without affecting the organisms that are useful.

During the early 18th century, scientists predicted that the world would face a severe famine in the 20th century and lots of people would die. But, due to the technological developments in agriculture, today, we have enough amounts of food Agriculture is the backbone of our nation. It should be preserved.
