Learning standards: 2.3.1 Able to read simple texts with guidance a) fiction Learning objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils are able to match the days according to the food ate by the caterpillar. Materials : Projector, Power point presentation, picture & word cards.
Previous Knowledge: Pupils have already learned about food & numbers.
Teaching Procedures (Pre/ Presentation/ Meaning) (Duration) 1. Ppls sing the days of the week song (5 mins). 2. Ppls are introduced with the story The Hungry Caterpillar. 3. Ppls talk about the cover by giving response to trs question. (5 mins) (While/ Practice/ Use) (Duration) Name of Activity 1. Shared reading. Ppls read the story. (15 mins) 2. Ppls are randomnly asked by the tr individually on what and the day did the caterpillar ate. (10 mins)

(Post/ Production/ Form) (Duration) Name of Activity 1. Group work activity. In small groups, ppls will be distributed with two sets of word & picture cards (the days and the food). Ppls need to match the days with the food that the caterpillar ate accordingly. (10 mins) 2. All the groups will change places. A representative from each group will read the answers while the others check the answers. (10 mins) 3. The group with the correct answers will be rewarded. 4. Ppls name the days of the week. (5 mins) - To test the ppls understanding and memorisation.
