Educational Reform, Everyones Commitment

On Monday I signed the decree for the enactment of the Constitutional Reform in regard to education. Today marks the start of a long-awaited transformation of Mexican society, especially for students, parents and teachers. This is a fundamental change that will mark Mexicos progress over the next few decades. We are taking a decisive step to achieve the human right to quality education for Mexicans. One of the first presidential decisions I made was to submit this bill to Congress. Today, we can proudly say that this reform is the result of everyones commitment and determination. The major purpose of this reform is to make education a force to transform Mexico. I send my sincere thanks and appreciation to our teachers, for having embraced the lofty mission of educating our children and youth. In every classroom, you are building a better country. I confirm my decision to be a factor of encounter, of unity, of purposeful, constructive dialogue, to continue advancing the transformation of Mexico.
