It is a group technique by which a group tries to find a solution for a specific problem by gathering a lot of ideas spontaneously created or contributed by the members.

The session is broken up in to segments . After the rules have been stated the session leader permits the group to think and shouts out ideas for 3 minutes. There is then a break for 5 minutes during which complete silence is maintained, thereby encouraging incubation to take place. Then there is another 3-minute session during which ideas are generated, 5 minutes of silence, 3 minutes more idea generating, and so on

 The rules have stated earlier to the participants The members are divided in to segments The ideas are generated in the group It allows the participants to gather their thoughts and peruse the idea that

have been removed up to that point.

Break is taken so that the participants can think over the idea again and again Silence is maintained for 5 minutes so that the participants can think about

more ideas.

 As we know that creativity is about generating new

ideas, to find out the best alternatives, To recognize the idea or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems etc.. Thus how in stop and and go brain storming the ideas are generated and the members are made to think about the idea in complete silence. And the process continues till the final idea is generated.
