The nature in a rain forest There are many tropical rain forests in Papuan and Kalimantan.

On these two island, it rains almost everyday. The rainfall makes the rain forests rich in plants. There are between 200 and 300 different trees in the forests. The rainfall also makes wild animals enjoy living there. The temperature inside the forests is usually not less then 21 C, which is comfortable for people. This causes the rainforest to be a very exciting place to visit. Various kinds of trees and plants attract people to find wood, rattan, fruit or other useful things. But the wild animals inside the forest can be dangerous to people. Plants grow quickly there. Trees can be 30 to 50 metres tall. But now, many trees have been chopped down for the wood industry. A lot of problems arise because many areas in the forest have been cleared. One of the most serious problems is soil erosion.
