You can anyone method which is comfortable for you. Both give access to all the features.

but with one difference if u use the bypassing method u will have "dr.dkipped first use" as ur account name instead of ur real name u use for the profile. But thats just the name nothing else it will not affect in anyway.

I got my wife a vzw pixi+ and set it up for her w/o data plan. Assuming you have a PC, you need to install WOSQI to access the 'novaterm' and you also need to have java installed on your pc. You need to do the followings: 1. Turn on DEVMODE: Since pixi+ is at 1.4.5..., you need to down load the devicetool.js from webos-internals: https://developer.palm.com/content/r...ed_device.html a, Switch your pixi + to 'recovery mode' ( remove battery ; press & hold 'volume-up-key' and connect usb to pixi+). b, on your PC: run 'java -jar devicetool.js' to switch to 'DEVMODE". 2. Once pixi+ is in 'devmode', you can follow the following instruction to turn wifi on to activiate your pixi+ thru wifi: HELP Getting Started on New Pre3 Good Luck. Once I turned-on 'devmode' on her Pixi+ and setup wifi, she got internet access on her pixi+. I used the wifi to connect to internet to access/setup palm profile. You want to make sure you turn-off your data. There is no cons for do it that way. I did that for my pre2 vzw ( thru pageplus), pre3 vzw and pre3 att. I don't have data plan on any of those devices and I only used wifi when needed.

I don't think you'll have a Palm Profile doing this. It'll show up as "Dr. Skipped First Use", and I assume you won't be able to get apps. After bypassing activation, just remove the flag at "/var/luna/preferences/ran-first-use" with Internalz Pro or a device shell and reboot to get the proper setup sequence. As stated in the link, I did all the following ( once WIFI was setup ) to sign-into my palm profile: 3, Install 'impostah' using WOSQI 4, Delete the 'Account' info using 'impostah' ( this will remove 'Dr.Skip First Use')5. Use WOSQI to start a novacomm to access the pre3 directly. 6, Within the new terminal, type in the following: a, cd /var/luna/preferences ( change directory to /...... ) b, rm ran-first-use ( remove file ran..... ) c, pkill LunaSysMgr. ( kill the Luna to restart/re-initiate your activation. )
