3D Modeling House

In an endeavor to develop my 3D modeling I looked into basic tutorials on YouTube for 3DS Max. The following model was developed for an introductory tutorial from YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ry6cTuOmv0&list=PLMs2DNjui cpAJVXw8TCCGPi98vsFMJALe&index=7

The first stages of the tutorial focused on the construction of the roof and moved onto developing the basic layout of the building, and turn the individual modeled parts into editable polys for work. The next stage was the creation of the veranda, which involved various extrusions. It then lead on to creating the support beams for the veranda and the railing that ran along it.

After the construction of the railings and support beams, I selected all of them as one object and collapsed them into one object. The tutorial then moved onto creating a box window.

After creating the veranda and box window, the tutorial them moved onto creating the buildings windows, and door.

After creating a set of steps, the tutorial then went on to optimizing the house to reduce the number of polys, vertices and edges, as well as in some case converting some poly squares into triangle. This would reduce the amount of geometry in the scene, and would reduce the render time.

The final stage was applying textured maps to the surfaces. The surfaces were selected and the textures applied then adjusted using UVW Maps to fit the polys.
