Teacher of teachers He was a good student and a good sportsman. He joined the Department of Anatomy. He was the first person to get MS Hons in the University. Most probably nobody else in India has done MS Hons till now. He was in love of teaching and continued to teacher till his last days. He was very much interested in research. This took him to Germany where his senior professor actually made him his heir in neuro-anatomy. This experience contributed in making him a very good research worker and a good teacher as well. Mahdi Hasan was very close to him. When he got Padam Shri, I invited him for dinner. The present Vice Chancellor was also there. Whenever he used to teach, he used to take my name as his teacher. His was the second batch that I taught when I joined as Demonstrator in King Georges Medical College, Lucknow. After serving as Head of Department, I left the department to serve as physician.
