For twenty years, the Walter Gordon Symposium in Public Policy has presented a complex and nuanced view of diverse policy issues to the public. The symposium takes place annually in honour of the late Honourable Walter Gordon, Canadian patriot, devoted public servant and Senior Fellow of Massey College from 1973 until his death in 1987.

Imagining Canada's Energy Future


Presented by Massey College and the Scho ol of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto, this years symposium examines the future of Canadas energy policy. David Manning, Albertas envoy to the US, and Scott Vaughan, Canadas environment commissioner, will discuss how we might balance competing interests. From the Staples Trap of an economy based on a Bitumen Bubble to the Keystone XL pipeline and domestic refinery options, we ask whats next? Our keynote speakers will consider the opportunities and constraints of regulation in the energy economy, as well as challenges and possibilities for infrastructure integration. Dont miss the chance to hear the latest on relations with the United States, and hear our speakers tackle questions about fracking and so-called gre en oil.
