Cyber Bullying Expository Essay:
Background: An expository essay describes or explains about a specific topic. For this
assignment, you are being asked to write an essay that explains specific information
about cyber bullying. This information is based on your in-class research.
Suggested Outline:
Introduction: give a definition of cyber bullying, when it started, and give specific
examples of how cyber bullying happens
First body paragraph: describe current laws relating to cyber bullying. You may
also give information and examples of laws that are being developed right now or
that you would like to see implemented to protect young people. What are courts
doing to punish cyber bullies?
Second body paragraph: write about a specific example of a young person who
has experienced cyber bullying. Give statistics and facts that show the impacts of
cyber bullying on young people today.
Third body paragraph: write about a second, different example of a young
person who has experienced cyber bullying. Give different statistics and facts that
show the impacts of cyber bullying on young people today.
Fourth body paragraph: give examples of what students and teachers can do to
stop cyber bullying
Conclusion: give examples of what someone could do if they were being
harassed or bullied over the internet. You may also write about what you would
like to see happen with this issue in the future.
