PRESENT SIMPLE - BASIS

Vervoeging:

De meeste werkwoorden vervoegen zoals het voorbeeld hieronder. Let wel: de shit regel (She, he + it snel gezegd klinkt als shit: 3e persoon enkelvoud krijgt een s). De 3e persoon negatief en vragend wordt gevormd door does te gebruiken.

PRESENT SIMPLE - BASIS

Vervoeging:

Als een werkwoord eindigt op de volgende geluiden, s, z, sh, ch, j of zs, dan wordt " "es" gebruikt in de positieve vorm 3e persoon

Wordt gebruikt voor: 1. Iets dat permanent/een feit is

PRESENT SIMPLE - VERDIEPING

Gebruik de tegenwoordige tijd na bijwoorden van tijd zoals:

always, usually, generally, frequently, often, sometimes, seldom, rarely, hardly ever, almost never, never,
(nb dit zijn meestal ook herhaalde acties)
We usually play football on Fridays. I never go out on schoolnights.

Cecile rarely eats crisps.

PRESENT SIMPLE - VERDIEPING

Gebruik de tegenwoordige tijd voor iets dat gepland is in de nabije toekomst (vaak voor openbaar vervoer) maar ook voor andere gebeurtenissen die al vaststaan:
My train leaves tonight at 7pm. The bus arrives in Amsterdam at 8am so we are on time. When is your English test tomorrow?

PRESENT SIMPLE BASIS (VRAGEN STELLEN)

You speak English. Do you speak English?
I play football. Do you play football? It snows in winter in New York Does it snow in winter in New York?

PRESENT SIMPLE BASIS (ONTKENNING)

De ontkenning in het Engels maak je door het woordje not te gebruiken. Als er een vorm van het werkwoord to be is (am, are, is) dan maak je een ontekenning door er not hierachter te plaatsen.
You speak English. You do not speak English. I am really into English lessons! I am not really into English lessons! I play football. I do not play football. It snows in winter in New York It does not snow in winter in New York.

PRESENT SIMPLE VERDIEPING (ONTKENNING)

De ontkenning in het Engels kent ook een verkorte vorm waarbij een apostroof wordt gebruikt om aan te geven dat we een letter hebben weggelaten:
You do not speak English. = You dont speak English. I am not really into English lessons! = Im not really into English lessons I do not play football. = I dont play football It does not snow in winter in New York. = It doesnt snow in winter in New York
