Active transport
Active transport has character to oppose the concentrate of gradient. Active transport pumps the molecule through the membrane. It needs energy to oppose the concentrate of gradient. This transport has a function to keep the concentrate of small molecule in cell differs from molecules environment concentrate. For example is the pumping of Na+ and K+

The Pumping of Na+ and K+

The Pumping of Na+ and K+

The bond of Na+ and protein in cytoplasm stimulates phosphorylation by ATP. The form of protein is changed by phosphorylation. By changing form, Na+ is released outside of cell. After that, K+ from extracelluler is tied by protein. The bond of K+ and protein stimulates the releasing of a group of phosphate. The losing of phosphate reform protein and K+ is released inside cell. Cycle is repeated.
