    a) The cost of external recruitment consultants for each of the Senior Civil Service (SCS) posts appointed over the past two financial years. b) How many of those posts were eventually awarded to an internal (ie civil servant) candidate.

    Information released
    In the financial year 2010/11 BIS paid a total of 47,950 in executive search fees to help select two new senior civil servants. One person was selected from the private sector and one was from another government department. In the financial year 2011/12 BIS paid 16,000 in executive search fees to help BIS select one new senior civil servant. The person selected for the post was from the private sector.
