First step determine--CHO


Total CHO 187.5 gms/day 2 skim milk (minus 24 gms) 3 vege (minus 15 gms) 2 fruit (minus 30 gms) 187.5 minus 69 = 118.5 118.5/15= provide 8 starch servings

Step 2 determine PRO


75 gms total for day x .75 HBV=56.25 gms 2 skim milk (56.25-16 gms= 40.25 gms) 40.25/7 = 6 srvgs meat Additional pro= 8 starch(24 gms) & 3 vege (6 gms) Total pro (HBV 58+30=88 gms)

Step 3 determine FAT


50 gms total 8 Starch (minus 8 gms fat) 508=42 gms fat remaining Meat 3 lean (3 x 3); medium (3 x 5) Meats 9+15 as above 42-24=18 gms Provide 3 extra fat srvgs which =15 gms Total fat = 47 gms

Calculate

Calculate
CHO Totals 189 gms x 4=756 cal PRO 88 gms x 4 =352 cal FAT 47 gms x 9 =378 cal

Determine macronutrient distribution


756 /1531= 49% CHO 352/1531= 23% PRO 423/1531= 28% FAT All percentages added should = 100% and they do.
