Essay Question: Latinos have become the largest ‘minority’

group in the United States. At the same time, they hold the
highest dropout rates and the largest percentage of prison
inmates. As an undergraduate student and future leader in your
community, what does this mean to you? What would you like to
see done to improve the status of Latinos nationwide or in your
community?

Requirements:
- 750 words
- Double spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman
- Cover page with essay title, name, and contact information
(e-mail, address, phone number, and PID)
- The essay itself must have your PID only. DO NOT type your
name on the essay page. Doing so will automatically
eliminate your essay.
- You must be an MSU undergraduate student in order to apply
for the Brown Pride Scholarship

The essays will be read by a panel of MSU faculty judges who will
decide the top two essays. The writers of the top two essays will
each be awarded a $250 scholarship.
