Stacey HiIIs Museum
Year 6 went recentIy on a trip coincid-
ing with our history topic, The Victori-
ans. We went to Stacey HiIIs Museum in
MiIton Keynes. We had a whaIe of a
time, buying goodies from the weII-
stocked Gift Shop (I brought a book of
Favourite ChocoIate Recipes, a rubber
and a penciI). We saw a Victorian
kitchen fuII of gadgets NOT powered by
eIectricity, a Victorian Iaundry (NO
washing machines or tumbIe dryers),
and a reconstruction of a Victorian
street with different shops speciaIising
in different things (did
you know that they had
WrigIey's chewing gum
in those days!) We had
Iunch in their tea-rooms,
and spent the afternoon
in a teacher-Ied group.
We dressed up in ye oIde costumes-

The VLE
By Sophia Thornton-Russell and Mia Tinsley
In year 3 and 4 we are trying out a new
learning platform called the VLE. This is a
computer-based area for everyone to use. It's
like having a virtual library that connects the
whole school. We play games on it and it
helps us learn too. It's run by Mr Adams.
You need a password to get on to it.
This half term, we've decided to have the VLE
on the BPS website. This means children can
upload their music that they have made at
home, and upload their homework too.
The teachers put different things on each
time we go on it, like Anglo-Saxon games and
information too. We also have numeracy
games and literacy games.
We love the VLE because it is funin fact,
we enjoy it so much we can't stop talking
about it!
We all know about Easter,
Christmas and New Year.
But did you know, there are
lots more festivals in the
world?
In Divali (which means Festi-
val oI Light), little children
spray themselves with bright
colours on white bits oI cloth.
Grown-ups make a Iire Irom
an old tree. Divali is a Hindu
Festival, and other religions
celebrate it too.
At school, we celebrated
Sukhot by doing a special
dance with a Lulav, made
Irom leaves and branches.
People also make special huts
with leaves Ior the rooI, and
