Statement From Senate Democratic Conference Spokesman Mike Murphy

The minimum wage proposal in the Republican/IDC budget resolution is not real. It includes no details and by their own admission there seems to be no agreement between the IDC and the GOP on what it actually accomplishes. The fact is the Senate Democratic Conference has 27 votes ready to support legislation increasing the states minimum wage to $9.00 and indexing it to the rate of inflation. This legislation has already passed the Assembly and should be passed in the Senate immediately.
