1. What was your first reaction when reading the title of the story?

My first reaction was shocked. I was shocked because I thought she had actually died. I had thought she died for real when I read the title. Then when I read the story I realized she wasnt dead.

2. After reading the story, what does the author really mean when she writes that she died in the sixth grade? Did she really die? Explain your answer using examples from the story.

The author means that she lost her personality. No she did not actually die in the story.

3. How does the author describe herself before she died? Go back to the story and find adjectives that describe her personality.

The author describes herself as out going and compassionate. She was also smart.

4. In the second paragraph the author says she flat-lined. What does she

mean? Look up the word in an online dictionary and write the definition.

Flat-lined means to die or being near death.

5. How did The Crew influence others in school? Give specific examples that you found throughout the story.

The Crew influenced others in school. They were the people everyone noticed. They were the trendsetters. So they influenced everyone in school.

6. The author mentions that the girls at the sleep over were 11 going on 17 then she states that she was content to be a kid for a while longer. How is it possible to be 11 going on 17? Describe some of the things the girls wanted to do that werent age appropriate.

The author didnt really man they were 11 going on 17. She meant that they were 11. But they were acting like they were 17. They wanted to talk about boys and other older kid stuff.

7. What were 3 specific negative effects the bullying had on the author?

The author had lost her personality. She also never talked to anyone. Also she viewed every problem as unsolvable. Those were the three negative

effects. 8. When did things finally turn around for her? What exactly happened? How did she feel? Things turned around for her in the 8th grade. Three people helped her overcome the bullying. She felt happy that she became a good person. So things turned around for her.
