Although fictional, this collection of short stories is also a tour of social history. It celebrates a journey along the Fulham Road, the iconic thoroughfare that knifes through the boroughs of Fulham and Chelsea, and reflects in vivid detail through its characters, the curious divide that once existed sixty years ago between the two areas. London has always been a rich source of great human stories and this book is a kaleidoscope of humour, pathos, pride and prejudice, punctuated by slices of historical facts and fascinating figures. About the Author Born in Fulham in 1935, Harry Turner was educated at the Sloane School in Chelsea, served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Middlesex Regiment (The Diehards) from 1953 to 1955 and spent 33 years in the world of Independent Television. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and is a great-grandfather. His other books include Heavens Anvil by Empiricus Books and Growing Up In Fulham and Zen and the Art of Gentle Retirement by Janus Publishing. Turner has also written three books of military poetry (Spelmount publishers). He lives in Weybridge, on the River Wey and derives inspiration from feeding the swans.
