February 2012 June 2012 Served as a CCLC summer enrichment program teacher. Developed inquiry-based lessons that promoted problem-solving and student-owned learning. Provided opportunities for students to investigate, collaborate, and construct in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Created an inviting and engaging classroom, and designed literacy and mathematics blocks. Taught upcoming first grade students over a four-week period during the summer of 2012.

January April 2012 Created and delivered standards-based, student-centered lesson plans in the science, social studies, and mathematics content areas. Supervised a class of 18 first grade students, providing and reflecting upon my own classroom management tactics and instructional strategies. Worked closely with the cooperating classroom teacher, incorporating the FOSS science modules and Investigations mathematics curriculum into my own lessons and activities. October November 2011 Crafted small-group and whole-group language arts lesson plans for a third grade classroom, incorporating guided reading, read-aloud, and other components of a balanced literacy program. Adapted reading lessons to meet the needs of struggling readers, performing running records, miscue analyses, and QRI inventories.
