RE: Updated EASYACC.INI Initialization Files & Release of SAIG Host

Communication Guide for Mainframe and Midrange Users v1.3

We are pleased to announce the availability of updated initialization files for the SAIG
Mainframe/Midrange EasyAccess installation and a new release of the SAIG Host
Communication Guide v1.3.

Updated EASYACC.INI Initialization Files:

Some of our users have already made these upgrades to their easyacc.ini file. You may
choose to make these changes manually by editing your current easyacc.ini file or by
downloading the new file to your system.
The following parameters have been changed in the IDENTIFY section:

AUTO_RETRY=Y
MAX_RETRY=5
RETRY_DELAY=120

The following parameter has been added to the

SAIGPORTAL_DEFAULT_RECEIVEPARMS section:

ASCII=Y

• Easyacc.ini in ASCII format is the initialization file for the following midrange
systems:
 AS400
 All supported Unix systems
 Sun Solaris
 Open VMS
• Easyacc.ini in EBCDIC format is the initialization file for the following mainframe
systems:
 OS390 MVS
In the future, look for the easyacc.ini files to be bundled with the client installation of the
software.
Updates to SAIG Host Communication Guide for Mainframe/Midrange User’s v1.3:

• Overview section
• Section 3: Security – new tips for changing your password every 120 days
• Section 4: Communication Procedures – Query_List and Audit_Log
• Appendix A, B, and C -new samples added
• Appendix D: Trouble Shooting – new section
