Cubecrete Problem Statement

OBJECTIVE Cement Mortar Cube shall be Casted to achieve maximum possible Compressive Strength till the day of Testing. MATERIALS 1. Cement (Any Grade) 2. Sand (Any Type) 3. Admixtures (Any Type) 4. Fly Ash, Micro silica can be used. 5. No Coarse Aggregates 6. No Epoxy 7. No Reinforcement/ Fiber DETAILS OF THE CUBE Size of the cube:- 70.6 X 70.6 X 70.6 mm in three specimen. SUBMISSION OF REPORT Data sheet of mix design (soft copy) should be e-mailed before 10th March 2013, on following address cubecrete@nirmitee.org Data sheet including mix design, casting pictures in Hard copy at the time of event Data sheet (hard copy) should be certified by the HOD of the concerned institute.

EVALUATION Compressive strength of Cement Mortar cube (average of 3 cubes) Evaluation of mix design sheet and presentation.

JUDGING CRITERIA Maximum Compressive Strength Minimum Variability amongst the 3 Cube results.

Specifications: Maximum 15 % variation is allowed in the strength of individual cubes. Average of 3 cubes strength shall be taken into account and the group with highest average cube strength will be declared winner. Mix design sheet is to be submitted in advance and to be mailed on following addresscubecrete@nirmitee.org N13 should be grooved on each and every cube. No group will be allowed without N13 engraved on their cubes. Every candidate should be able to clearly explain the mix design sheet. The decisions of judges will be binding and final.
