White Fused Alumina

Fused Aluminium Oxide is a very refractory, hard and chemically resistant material widely used in the refractory, abrasive and foundry industries. In the investment casting industry, White Fused Alumina(White Corundum) is recommended as a refractory flour and stucco for the first coats (equiax process). In single crystal and directional solidification, Fused Alumina is a standard refractory material for both prime coat and back-ups. A wide range of grades are available for application in the Investment Casting industry. For stuccoing purpose, ALODUR ZWSK is recommended for the first coats, whereas ALODUR WSK/SWSK and WRG are more suitable for back-ups. Particle size distributions from F20 (1.0 mm) to F220 (0.05 mm) are available to cover the full range of sizing requested for this application. ALODUR WRG 325 and ALODUR WRG 200 are recommended for slurry make up. Fused Alumina flours can be used as fillers for heavy-duty foundry coatings. Due to the high refractoriness and low porosity, Fused Alumina coatings are suitable for any size of iron and steel casting.
