Bs Newsflash in a dash Parent Highlight (03/26/13)

Dear Parents, Welcome back to a new week. Our class has been enjoying the presence of Miss Boedeker, our student teacher from Lancaster Bible College. Under my guidance, Miss Boedeker has assumed responsibility for teaching the cross-curricular morning meeting and math. Although she will personalize lessons with her unique professional touch, all lessons will continue to follow national and state standards as well as Conestoga Valley curriculum. Our Pi Day celebration was a great success. All students memorized 10 digits past the decimal in Pi. We had about 12 students compete for the prize of smashing a shaving cream pie in my face. Willow and Sachi emerged victorious as they memorized 104 digits past the decimal. Way to go girls! Language Arts: This week we read One Dark Night as we focus on why we should take care of animals. Our skill is sequence. Math: We will wrap up our money chapter and take our assessment Thursday. Social Studies: Our learning will include the United states from 1500-1800 as well as natural resources we use in our country. Writing: We will continue to explore pronouns. Additionally, students will write a new persuasive piece. Their task is to persuade their audience to help stray cats (connection tour anthology story). From, Ryan P. Berardi, M.Ed.
