I am so pleased that Hand in Paw has the opportunity to consider Laura Cardwell as a candidate for Executive Director. As a born citizen of Birmingham, a long time Board member for Do Dah Day and an animal lover, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the important work that Hand in Paw has done for Central Alabama. I have known and worked with Laura in many capacities since 1984. Laura brings her generous and inviting spirit to everything she does. Our work together in advertising was always a pleasure. She brings efficiency, creativity and effectiveness to any organization that is lucky enough to work with her. It was no surprise to me that Laura and Jed would become Hand in Paw therapy team. How lucky their clients will be to spend time with them. Laura worked to bring success to Do Dah Day for many years. We were both involved in one of the most important aspects of the annual event raising money for the benefit of homeless animals in Jefferson County. Laura worked tirelessly to help Do Dah Day be financially successful every year. Laura is a proven leader in the ever-changing marketing and advertising industry. She possesses the ability to lead and bring consensus to any group of people especially when she is working towards a goal that she cares about.
