NEWBURGH- Anastasia T. Abbruscato passed away peacefully on October 11, 2084 at her home in Newburgh, New York surrounded by family. She was 85. Daughter of the late Thomas and Desiree Abbruscato, she was born on August 15, 1989. She married the love of her life, Cedric Smith on June 24, 2016 at St. Francis Church of Assisi in Newburgh, NY. Mr. Smith survives at home in Newburgh.

Anastasia attended Newburgh Free Academy High School, Orange County Community College, and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She received her bachelors degree in both Sociology and Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education, and a Masters in Education. She was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi st nd rd Church. Anastasia spent the 35 years teaching 1 , 2 , and 3 graders at Dr. John Smith Elementary school. On her summers off, she visited over 20 countries across the world, naming a few: England, Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, China, Japan, and Egypt. Most of all, she loved her family; Anastasia spent her years as loving loyal wife, aunt, and godmother. In addition to her husband, Cedric Smith, she is survived by her children Kim, Andromeda, and Tim, grandchildren, Matt, Luke, Sarah, Emily, Clive, Gwen, and expending baby girl Julia, godchildren, Sam, Bernice, and Fred, and many, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. Anastasia was predeceased by her younger sister, Elyse Abbruscato. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, September 15, 2074 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Benkard Street in Newburgh. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Route 94 in New Windsor.
