, February 28, 2013 Luxury returns to the metro-Detroit area when Scott Shuptrine Interiors celebrates the grand opening of its $3 million state-ofthe-art flagship store on March 7 at 9 a.m. The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber is inviting federal, state, county and local elected government officials to inform attendees about the sequester at the Legislative Reception, which will be held at the Townsend Hotel on March 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. U.S. Rep. Sander Levin and U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio will be in attendance. Levin works in the ninth district of Michigan and is a ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which focuses on how to grow the economy. He will retire after this term. Recently elected, Congressman Bentivolio (R) represents Michigans 11th congressional district. Early this month, he commented on tax regulations for business owners. It takes courage to start new businesses and create new jobs. We should not be piling on debt while burdening our entrepreneurs with plans for new taxation. The event is $25 for Chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Hors doeuvres and a cash bar are included.
