Reading Workshop We will spend this week getting back into the groove of reading workshop and I have a few students that need to be re-tested for the mytery unit. Students will select their own books and read for about 30 minutes. Then they will journal about what they read. On Wednesday we will do some Book Buzzing.

Writing Workshop

Social Studies
Students will have an opportunity to update their presentations according to the feedback they received from their peers. Today I introduced a new unit on economics that will continue through next week. The key words are: market, economy, goods, services, supply, and demand.

Due to the short week, we will spend a couple days writing personal narratives. I will review the qualities of personal narratives and students will read them aloud on Wednesday.

Back to fractions! Today we reviewed the terms we learned before the break and how to nd a fraction of a whole. We will explore equivilent fractions and wrap up the chapter next week.

No Spelling this week.

Please email me if your conference time doesnt work for you. You should expect to spend about 45 minutes in the classroom with your child. I would like to ask in advance that you put your phones on vibrate and focus on your child while you are in the classroom. Thanks!
