America is a continent not a country.

Cultural Regions

S Areas that reflect the customs and beliefs of the majority of people

who inhabit it. It may be defined by its language or religion.

S America is divided into two major cultural regions. Anglo-America

and Latin America.

Anglo-America
S English language and

protestant religion are predominant.

S Ancestors:

Anglo-Saxons (old germanic tribes that invaded Great Britain; they spoke Old English)

Latin America
S Made up by countries from

Mexico, some of the Caribbean and most of the Southern Continent.

S Known for speaking

languages of Latin origin such as Spanish, French and Portuguese. The predominant religion is Catholicism.
