Tornados : by Rebekka and Abbey
When the wind spins so fast it forces all the clouds to gather into one area. They get closer and closer to the ground it finally becomes a tornado.
We cannot measure tornados by its strength in sight. Instead we use the Fujita scale.
The biggest danger of tornados have is wind. It picks things up and turns even every day objects into missiles, the biggest danger is being hit with flying debris.
BEFORE: Have a disaster plan. Make sure everyone knows where to go. DURING: Go to basement if you have one. Go under a sturdy piece of furniture. If you live in a campervan GET OUT!
6
Tornado Alley receives 700-800 tornadoes each year, which averages to about 2 tornadoes each day.
WIND SPEED
The strongest winds in a tornado are between 360km and 500km. THAT IS OUTSTANDING
