TORNADOS

By Rebekka and Abbey

HOW ARE TORNADOS FORMED

A tornado is an extreme weather phenomenon.

Firstly for a tornado to happen there is usually a big thunderstorm just before. Secondly you get warm moist air and cold air .When the two forms of air meet they create an instability in the atmosphere. After that, there becomes a change in the wind direction. That causes the wind to spin faster.

When the wind spins so fast it forces all the clouds to gather into one area. They get closer and closer to the ground it finally becomes a tornado.

CONDITIONS NEEDED TO OCCUR

Thunderstorm Warm Air Cold Air

HOW ARE THEY MEASURED

We cannot measure tornados by its strength in sight. Instead we use the Fujita scale.

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS

The biggest danger of tornados have is wind. It picks things up and turns even every day objects into missiles, the biggest danger is being hit with flying debris.

PRECAUTIONS/SAFETY MEASURE FOR HUMANS
