V ALLEJO A QUATIC C LU B

C ITY C OUNCIL
M EETING
WHEN: Tuesday 24 March @ 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Vallejo City Hall (555 Santa Clara St.)

As some of you may know, the City of Vallejo is threatening to withhold $270,000 from
G.V.R.D. this year. A large portion of Cunningham's operating costs are financed by this
money. Now another $50,000, which covers the PG&E bill for the pool, is proposed for
elimination. If these were to happen, Cunningham would become a “summer-only” pool,
in operation for 3 or 4 months a year (May-August). This would have severe and drastic
repercussions for VJO as we know it today, as well as for every high school aquatics
program in Vallejo.

We can no longer afford to stand idly by while our future is being decided by others.

We are asking that every member of the team, including their families, attend the City
Council meeting on the 24th. This is our opportunity to let the City Council know the
impact these cuts would have on our team and our children, to put a face on their
proposed budget cuts, and alert the community to our situation.

**Please arrive at City Hall no later than 6:30 p.m. wearing your turquoise team shirt.
Members will also have the opportunity to address the Council if they wish.**

The practice schedule for the evening will be as follows:

Great Whites (Seniors) — Regular Practice. 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Tiger Sharks (Age Group) — NO PRACTICE.
Makos (Lesley) — NO PRACTICE.
Hammerheads (Tuffy) — NO PRACTICE.
