If you were an architect, describe a specific situation in which you could use right triangle trigonometry to help you

design a new hospital.

Triangular shapes occur mostly in roofs. They are also used in truss designs to support roofs. Pythagoras Theorem states that in a right triangle, the square on the hypotenuse (longest side of the triangle) is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides. This fact is used to design reclines. Right angled triangles are also commonly used in the design of handicap ramps. Pythagoras theorem is used to calculate the dimensions of the ramp. Given the height to be negotiated and the ground space (span) available the architect will use Pythagoras theorem to determine how steep will be the incline and what will be the length of the ramp. If the ramp is too steep, the design will have to be suitably modified to make it kind. (In fact, given any three facts or requirements about the ramp, the architect can use Right Angle Trigonometry to calculate the unknown parameters and thus design the ramp.)
