Muscles:

Voluntary &
Involuntary

There are two classes of muscles:

Voluntary, which there are about 500 in the body. These are attached to bones, and are
called voluntary because they are under the power of our will. These are the muscles
we use to climb, run, and play. We can think about moving them, and they move.

Involuntary, which we cannot command, but are always functioning. These are the
muscles that perform the vital processes of life, such as pumping blood and digesting
food. Some of them are otherwise called organs.
