● Born in Bologna in 1560
● Apprenticed in his family
● In 1582 he, his brother Agostino
and his cousin Ludovico
Carracci opened a painter's
studio
● In 1595 he and his brother went
to Rome to decorate the
Palazzo Farnese
● In 1608 stipulates to a pupil that
he will spend at least 2 hours in
his studio
● In 1609 he died and was buried
in Rome
Annibale's style
● The Carraccis laid
emphasis on the typically
Florentine linear
draftsmanship
● They also payed
attention to the
glimmering colors and
mistier edge of objects
