English Workshop Paper 2 SJKT
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Read the instructions before answering questions. You are given 1 hour and 15 minutes to answer this paper. NO MARKS given for an empty blank.
Write on what you SEE and NOT ON WHAT YOU THINK. DO NOT write a long sentence that can make you doing mistakes 1 MARK ONLY. Start your sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Remember to write sentences in SVO order Check on the subject-verb agreement. is,are,was,were,has,have,do,does,did Use articles before a singular common
noun. (a , an, the) Do not use the before proper nouns. e.g: the Kuala Lumpur , the Ali Use a time phrase for sentences in past tense (e.g: last night, yesterday, just now) Use a correct preposition-memorize
(in, on, at, to, for, by ,of, from, into)
To start a sentence, give a name to the noun shown in the picture. Use the correct possessive pronouns (his,her,their etc.)
Use present tense or present continuous tense if the action word is not given. Do not use I in your sentence as the person in the picture is not you. Start your sentence with The man, The farmer, The teacher etc.
1 mark for content and 2 marks for expression. If the content word is wrong, no marks will be given. Sometimes you need to leave out certain words or add some other words . Sometimes the capital letters need to be smaller when you write in the blanks. Check the punctuation and grammar. NO SPELLING MISTAKES, dear.. or you will get 0 marks for that.
Check your answer by re-reading that sentence after you have transferred your answer. Improve your handwritingseriously. This section can push you up to score an A in English. Continuous practice will definitely help you to get 15/15 marks.
Read the instructions -can be used in your story. Study the pictures to get the whole idea. Read all the given words and understand their meanings. Identify the tense, verb-to-be. Underline verb & add subject Circle verb + ing & feeling add subject& vtb.
Start your story with an introduction about the main character or about the day. End your story with a conclusion. PLEASE memorize the sample sentences for introduction & conclusion. Write at least one or two more sentences using your own words. You can list down some relevant vocabulary. Use sentence connectors. Memorize the verb list in paste tense.
Use correct grammar (e.g:preposition, articles, pronouns,subject-verb agreement) Add in adjectives, adverbs and also similes or idioms . write short sentences but a lot to avoid grammatical & structural errors. If you are sure enough, use compound sentences. Be careful with the use of capital letters, full stop and comma AND of course your HANDWRITING. DONT FORGET to read the whole story before hand-in your test paper.
