Snappers Swim Past Andrew College for First Time in Over Decade

Franklin County, Pa. After an impressive win to open the season, the Snapper mens swim team come back with a dominating win over the foe Andrew College with a final score of 140120. This marks the first win over Andrews College in over a decade for the Snapper squad. The Black and Gold captured six of 11 events as today's win over Andrew College snapped an 11meet losing streak against the Skylarks since the series began. The Snappers came out with something to prove over the tough Andrew College squad. The meet started off with a close finish in the 200 medley relay with the combined effort first place win of William Harrington, Nicolas Stevenson, Richard Mack and John Manson (1:34.66) finishing just .67 seconds before Andrew College. In an excellent performance, senior captain Drew Richardson edged out Tyler Gardner of Andrew College, to win the 100 yard freestyle by .06 seconds with a time of 50.64. Later in the night, fellow classmate senior captain William Harrington showed a stellar performance in the 200 yard backstroke touching in first place in 1:56.87. The Snapper squad had many tremendous swims throughout the night. Junior Richard Mack registered an individual win in the 1000 yard freestyle while freshman Gene O Toole finished third in 10:36.36 with superb racing for both individuals.

Last but not least, junior Nicholas Stevenson has a solid start to his junior season finishing a close second place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:01.98 and fourth in 200 yard breaststroke with a 2:16.16. Ending the exciting night with a come from behind first place win in the 200 yard freestyle relay with members Drew Richardson, John Manson, Nicolas Stevenson and Dan Smith working together to put up a victory with a time of 1:30.82. The Black and White have time to celebrate their season-opening triumphs as they return to action next, Saturday, November 9. South Central squares off against Belvedere University and Brunskwick University on Saturday November 9, in Bowman Natatorium.
