    This is an article I wrote in 1984. A journal kept it for eight months and then did not want to publish it. I never did publish it, but I later wrote a shortened article for the same journal. The editor had me revise three or four times. I don't understand why case studies are apparently controversial in social work. Donald T. Campbell loved case studies. He was an advisor for many PhD students who did case studies.
