PHASES OF DISASTER MANAGEMENT A. Preparedness

ACTIVITIES 1. Monitoring of price and supply of basic necessities under DTIs jurisdiction. 2. Monitoring of price and supply of prime commodities. 3. Regular enforcement of Fair Trade laws e.g. Price Act, Consumer Act, Price Tag Law 4. Conduct seminars with LGUs as to procedural enforcement of RA 7581 (Price Act) in relation to DTI DO No. 50, series of 1999 (2nd Q) 5. Monthly LPCC meetings 6. Attendance to Regional & Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council Meeting

B. Response

1. Price and supply monitoring of basic necessities and prime commodities deemed critical shall be conducted immediately following the onset of calamity/disaster. 2. Take inventory of supply of basic necessities if necessary. 3. Submit reports to LPCC and Head Office. 4. Facilitate flow & supply of critical commodities through coordination with suppliers and concerned government agencies. 5. Enforce Price Act specially the provision on automatic price control with the LGUs. 6. Adjudicate cases.
