    Introduction:
    Compressed air has various applications in our life as it contains high amount of energy. The objective of this event is to use this energy to fire a bullet from a Rifle shaped device and hit the specified target from a specified distance.

    Description:
    This is a two round event. Participants have to make a Compressed air gun using PVC pipes. Also they have to make their own bullets. Length of gun should not be more than 1 meter and that of bullet should not be more than 10 cm. Bicycle pump will be provided by us to compress air.

    Team: Rules:

    Maximum no. of members in a team is 2.

    Round 1: In 1st round all participants have to give Range-Test. In this round the range of their gun has to be determined. Participants will be given 2 chances in this round to test the range. Round 2: In 2nd round participants have to hit a target from a specified distance. Target is a no. of (4 or 5) concentric circles on a cardboard. With the innermost circle with maximum points and outermost with zero point. Points for this round will be disclosed on the spot. Participants will be given 3 chances in this round.

    Judging criteria:
    Marking will be done on the basis of the following formula: Total Marks = D + C

    D = Range in 1st round (in feet) (maximum of two trials) C = Total points earned in hitting target (sum of all 3 trials)

    NOTE:
    Participants can use 670ml coke bottle in addition to PVC pipes for more energy storage capacity. If total points earned by two teams are equal then, design of their gun will be considered for judging. Trigger mechanism is compulsory to fire bullet. Absence of any trigger/launcher mechanism may lead to disqualification. Gun must be safe to use, use of any kind of explosive or any other energy source is strictly prohibited. Gun must be reinforced for the safety so that it can sustain high pressure.
