Research and Development

This is my first submarine which didnt work because the weight of the coins wasnt balanced, so it wasnt buoyant. This is a picture of me putting aspirin in the balloon.

This is my third submarine and my last failed submarine. It failed because the holes were too big. The aspirin kept getting out because of the holes in the water bottle.

This is my second submarine and it also didnt work. The reason it didnt work was the water didnt come inside the holes.

Aspirin is the engine of the submarine. When aspirin and water meet, aspirin will start to turn into gas and when the gas increases, the submarine will start to go up.
The coins and the holes are also the engine of the submarine. The coins gives force so the water bottle would be able to sink. The holes do a little different job. The water goes into the holes and the water replaces the volume of air in the submarine. Finally, the coin in the balloon is also important. If there wasnt any, then the balloon would float and there wont be any water inside the balloon. So the aspirin wouldnt melt.

Behind the Scene

Floating The submarine floats because it is less dense than the water. The waters density is one, so the density of the submarine is below one. Sinking The submarine sinks because the water comes in the submarine. It takes more volume than the air inside the submarine so it sinks.

Floating The submarine floats back again by the help of the aspirin. The aspirin melts and it forms gas. The Co2 (carbon dioxide) forms and it lifts the submarine up. Key: = water = submarine
