RSPCA Doesn't Deal With Injured Animals
RSPCA Doesn't Deal With Injured Animals
jp RSPCA, Doncaster, Rotherham & District Branch AFTER seeing a fox walking on Wolstenholme Road with a face injury, and oblivious of the dangers of oncoming traffic, I decided to call the RSPCA. I was put through to their new centre at Woodbourn Road, only to be told they didn't deal with injured animals. I was given another number for the RSPCA inspector. After waiting a good half hour on the phone I decided, being a pensioner, and the possibility of a large phone bill, to hang up, wondering how long I would have had to wait for my call to be answered. Having a rescued dog from them and having helped them in the past I was left feeling very disillusioned about the whole affair. The fox probably had a 95 per cent chance of surviving, if the traffic and a stray dog left it unscathed. An organisation the size of the RSPCA and a city, the size of Sheffield, should have a better policy than the one I experienced. Conrad Lorenz, Steade Road, Sheffield S7
