The Ummayad Caliphate of Córdoba ruled Spain and parts of Morocco from 929 to 1031. Abd ar-Rahman III ruled as Caliph of Córdoba from 929 to 961 after declaring himself Caliph in 929. Al-Hakam II then ruled from 961 to 976 followed by Hisham II al-Hakam's rule from 976 to 1009 as the Ummayad dynasty controlled the Caliphate of Córdoba during this period.
