Our media product is aimed at a young audience mostly, we have chosen this because our actors are of a similar age and this can make the product more appealing if the audience can relate to the characters in the film. The two characters Zara 17 and Paige 17 are made relatable to our audience through our script, mimicking the phone call shot of Zara calling Paiges crush. The rating of our film is a 15, which is our target audience and above. It can be appealing to most girls as its a girly film that takes a turn for the worse into the horror category. It is very different to a usual horror film because we have incorporated two genres, therefore it can still be appealing to boys.
How did you attract/address your audience?
We have kept our dialogue minimalistic in our script as we wanted the other features more apparent in the film. The dialogue featured is of usual talk for teenage girls when their at a friends house , we researched this and used it. We have incorporated the mise-en-scene carefully in planning to fit our target audience of 15 upwards. The bedroom scene is most apparent to the target audience because its pink and girly with make-up used as props, which has the typical connotations of a chick flick. The actresses are also used to attract our target audience.
