    AMI is a Portuguese Non Governmental Organization, private, non-profitable and independent.

    AMI aims to fight poverty, social exclusion, underdevelopment, hunger and the consequences of war, anywhere in the world.

    The foundation was created on the 5th December 1984 by Dr. Fernando Nobre M.D., Urologist Surgeon. Since then, AMI has been characterized as an innovative humanitarian organization in Portugal.

    The ami has shipped more than 500 volunteers to 54 countries.

    Honduras: In November 1998, following Hurricane Mitch, the AMI conducted a mission to rescue the victims of this natural disaster.
    Indonsia: Health care community in the district of Jayawijaya, with the Partner the Regional Government of Jayawijaya.
