Educational Philosophy

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe, caring, and mentally demanding atmosphere in order to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, and socially. The students should have goals they wish to accomplish throughout their education. Some of these goals include, gaining knowledge in subject matter, learning respect, and applying what they have learned to real world situations. In my educational philosophy each child that enters my classroom will have an equal opportunity to learn, I wish to instill a love of learning into as many students as possible and to never turn away from a challenging situation. Teaching as a career offers something that many jobs cannot offer, a great opportunity to shape the lives of children and inspire them to greatness. My role as a teacher is to give children the knowledge that is needed to be successful not only in the classroom but also within their community. It is not the child who adapts to my teaching; rather I, the teacher needs to adapt to each students specific needs. The curriculum that I will employ will invoke the students interests and will be relevant to their daily lives. I will incorporate into my classroom activities needed to reach all learners such as, actively engaged instruction, integrated units, group projects, individual work, and hands-on learning in order to make children actively engaged into the classroom. As an educator the most important concept I hope to implement in the students learning is that consistent learning will always be a process of life. As a professional educator the constant will to learn will never stop. The learning process includes actively improving myself to become a more successful educator. I will constantly research about improved strategies in differentiated instruction, classroom management, and formal learning theories, to expand my understanding of how learning takes place. As I continue to instruct classes, I also aim to improve my instruction in front of classrooms and audiences. In order to be a successful educator and accomplish all mentioned above, I will need to be organized, highly educated, and possess highly effective communication skills, not only with students, but also with other fellow educators. It is my duty to carry out these skills, and I am committed to constant revising in order to be a highly effective classroom teacher.
