Language Arts: Spelling: Bible:

4/1/13

This weeks spelling words are adjectives that can be made into adverbs by adding ly: lively, steadily, lonely, speedily, finally, merrily, harshly, luckily, eagerly, happily, suddenly, totally, angrily, willingly, sleepily, secretly, cowardly, personally, usually, and readily.

This week we will review and finish our study of Ruth with the use of a study guide. Memory work: 1 Samuel 12:24 But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

Reading:
We are continuing with Daily 4. Students are required to read 40 books by the end of the year. Please encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes every night.

Units:
We will discuss different ways electricity is produced, and students will explore different ways to light a bulb using just a battery, a bulb, and one or two wires. Then we will learn about circuits.

Writing:
Starting this week, we will begin working on Creative Essays. Finally, the students will get to write their own narrative stories of their choice. We will look at various genres and learn what narrative writing looks like. Students will be bringing home their grades for the Keynote presentation. Please sign the paper and have your child return it back. If you would like to see the recording of your childs presentation, please send me an e-mail or a memory stick to school.

Math:
We will go over unit 8 and then begin Unit 9: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents. Math test will be on Friday.
